My L333 spawn!!!

hi friends @ PCS, good news..

The dad just kicked a fry out of the cave. Assuming it is bad quality. Two was kicked earlier before i section the tank. Of course, the latter two was eaten by altum.

The egg has hatched. Now the fry carry a sag which is his food. once the yellow sag is consumed. he/she needs fish food!!

This made me the first member of PCS to be 'trained' by Gecko, Chilicrabz, akoh, and celticfish (Distinguished member of the commitee) who shared their breeding tips in here..And I was able to carry out the mission..

I raise zeb frys on hikari sinking carni and algae wafer. Shud be the same for these guys. How many now?:)

Tks...Gecko, I only have 2 left as I collected them after they get kicked out :) It seem like the spawn is not very big to begin with. Maybe eaten by parents ? Or maybe eaten by altums? :)

yo..Edmundo, water is clean I think, just that it is the dead spot at one corner of the tank..

I fed them with crushed wafers. They dont seem to eat, to me :P So.. I wonder if I do the right thing :)

Can always use this spawn as a learning curve so when the "good sized" spawn comes you ready.

Yo! I took the two buggers out and keep it in plastic tank. Water change every day with H20 from my other tank. I bet no more chlorine or flouride to kill them. :)

Almost did. I almost sell you the fish. On the hindsight, I learnt and I didn't expect pleco fries to be this huge..

Fishes are smart, their natural instinct. They can sense that there are spawns. They are waiting. It is unfortunate to see wrigglers been snapped up. Kinda feel bad. Now I am to segregate the parents and see will they spawn again.

The fries x 2 are 4weeks old when pictures are taken.

The setup is ( 30 x 30 x 20 ) cm plastic tank external. No filter. Bare tank. Only tremendous amount of aeration. Daily water change of 30%. Lastly, overfeeding with Hikari algae wafer.

An update of my favourite spawn. Two hatched. Two survive today :cool:

They have been housed in 1 feet box tank. I am about to transfer them to the L333 Spawn II cos I find that they are more or less same size.

Fresh food good for them. Just be sure it's good cleaning ( Ozone & UV ). :cool:

u used Ozone and UV to sterilize ur live feed? How u do tat?
