Pretty little Hypan, I wish people/farms wouldn't deliberately cross breed these fish though. They are often hard enough to identify as it is!!!!
In europe, the cross breeding of Malawi cichlids has got outof hand and who knows what genes are mixed up now, it is very sad.
I have seen 3 Hypans lately with the same squared patern, they are also decribed as L399. But how would Indo get such desirable fish?

the broken short lines and deep forked tail.
the fact that sometimes there are many different types of short lines..
so pleco with that kind of broken short lines either sparse or dense will be under L399 (*for now)
more similar looking fish would be L66 but the lines are more intricate, thinner and joined together
*check out silverdub pics...
these info was gathered from the L-number days attended by irwin and ming xin

for sure it is not L333.
most likely a species from the lower xingu complex.

I think it is a cross or lower xingu. L333 has no Lyre-tail
