hi guys, the fishes spawned again on August 21-22.
Frankly, I have no clue if I am doing the right thing. Yesterday, I took out everything from the cave. Because I figured the fries should be hatched by now.. (Altum lurking)

Within 1 hour, these wrigglers break away from the main group. Pole position!

Let's zoom in on the wrigglers in P1

These fries are still lagging behind in P2

My tank is 4x2x2. It is a community tank for C328 exclusive giant Common hatchetfish, giant altums and giant L333s. haha.. And the L333 is doing well, reach puberty and ready. Therefore, I partitioned the tank and allow the confirmed pair to spawn.

Ran into a series of problem unknown to me.
L333 fries:-
1 died one week after spawned
2 died @ fourth week old, 1 day after 25% water change on 18/9
1 died 19/09
2 died 20/09
Note: fries are in fry trap
I had enough. And move all to a 2 feet tank powered by normal sponge filter. Without much effort. Direct change over. Water is aged from other tanks. I guess it is the 1-2 degree/c temperature change, sudden..
6 died 21/09
Note: now fries are in 2 feet tank

From my little experience.
The Fries will died cuz from ( first 1-2 months need the good care )
1. Eating a lot until bloat
I try to give them a little first and try to check everyday how many they can eat with no bloat. I use Hikari Carnivore. I also put the almond leaves in the breeding box. They can eat also when they hungry.
2. Parameters change suddenly ( from Water change )
I used Japanese breeding trap to avoid parameters change sudden.
Or you can syphon only debris or dirty may be only 5-10% everyday.
:D

hi champ-bkk, appreciate the advice.
Eating - it is possible as they are kept in fry trap for 3 weeks. They have little place to swim and overfed, bloated stomach, indigestion does not help really. I will take note thanks.
Water parameters, I think I will have to be more careful with the water change and tank swap. Patience needed though arrhhg.. :)

Total death toll = 15 pcs :(
Looks like I have about 15 survivals and they are stable now
