I made the wrong day count. The fries are not free swimming yet. I had a very hard time shaking the whole balls of egg out of the cave.
Now.. back to my wine and honey baked ham :)

You always seem to be taking out the wrigglers, putting them into a tub. So, you keep them in the tub until the egg sac are used up? then do you transfer into new tank or back to the parents' tank? So many batches of fry, what do you do with them? Keep all of them, you will need many tanks.

Hi barmby
May I ask you 1 question? During the period before the egg sac is used up, do you do water change at all while they are all in the tub? Please help, sorry for hijacking your thread.

I have to pour out the fries into a tub. Then I'll keep them in a typical breeding box until the egg sac is used. I will transfer to another 2 feet tank. Yes, I have quite a few 2 feet tanks which I acquired over a period of time in Aquaticquotient. There are people giving up hobby every week. :)

Dear Champbkk!!!!
According to Johannes, and Celticfish, zebura is more sensitive. Even the L260 can be tough fries to raise.

I don't keep them in a tub. Tub is for me to do the transfer from cave to breeding box. I house the breeding box in the main tank with the father and mother below. Hope this helps...

Strong lights. I am on PL 55W x 2 and FL 40W x 1 in the tank from 6pm to 2am. The only chemical I use is Bio Stress Guard

Thanks barmby. Sorry, but another question. How long do you keep the fries in the breeding box? Do you move them into the tank with the parents or into a new grow out tank?

I keep the fries for 2 weeks in the breeding box. I move them into another new grow out tank after 2 weeks.

you can keep the fries in the breeding bix since the day they hatch up to 2 mths, depending on how many fries you have... you may want to split into 2 breeding boxes...
after 2-3 mths when they are more stable then i transfer them into their grow out tank...
that's what i do..:)
