Sorry for delayed reply, since there arrival, many UK based Hypan experts have pawed over them and the general consensus is they are predominantly L173, there are several L236 and as Johannes says a few contaminants. However the bi-catch fish aren;t believed any Hypan that has been available on the market. Windy (not sure if many of you will know of him) from Plecofanatics and Plecoplanet (and widely respected Hypan guru) spents hours last Sunday looking through them and although his initial reaction "there seems to be few 399/4000 types" his opinion quickly started changing "mind you though they dont look much like my 400s (differant eye, caudal and caudal peduncal shape all together)" they have very small eyes and the 236s have very big conical shaped eyes and a completely differant colour. I'll put more pics of them up later.
