I think if the tank is big enough & the fishes are fed ample food, shouldn't be big problem. Was also 1 of my previous ideas, but no tank space & no Vit M :D

Altums are too fast for plecos to attack ...

But small plecos are prone to pecks and attacks from altums ... for I do have bad experience with 6" discus attacking the 1.5" L128

I understand it is ok if you keep potential big pleco from very young cos they will be trained that wafer = food. However, new big fish from LFS, freshly caught from Brazil may think otherwise and may start $ucking the broad bodied angel..

akoh's 75cm LDA65 came from wild as well and housed with spotted silver dollars (SSDs body is pretty broad as well) ...

in factual 90% of plecos in singapore are wild caught ...

end of the day .. its individual specific ... ie. some aros can co-exist with plecos .. some cant even stand the sight of it ..

i do agree with you to a certain extend, went i first got the mega, i do have prom feeding it with sinking pellets, they seem slower to react to the food served. Now, he seem fine and have adapt well to sinking food, however, is still slower than other pseudas......

$ucking on slime of fishes..... if you feed them well, they would rather feed on sinking wafer than chasing ard for slime, plecos althot can be cani, but arent predator..... they will choose for easy food. If you continue to feed algae wafer to pseudas, i believe wat you speculate may happen.....:):p

something I've noticed about plecos ....

they do practise monkey see monkey do .. meaning when some plecos wack pellets ... the new intro ones will follow and eat ...

The past two years I have been feeding my L24 with algae wafer. doing fine. abit overweight. sad that it died whilst I am away. now I am sourcing for nice fish with long tail or rather unbroken tail. Now I have shortlisted a few. Hope a few ultra scarlet will come to our shore instead of Japan. But then.. how much am i willing to pay? :) Question to ponder...

Comm tank context..... Koi is aso the same, it is always advise to have a leader koi, commonly used is chagoi, size must be bigger than iz mate.... cos by character this variety is tamed easily and can adapt to human faster... :)

Something I don't understand. there is alot of people who keep L25s. There seem to be alot of buyers. I mean how many L25 can you keep in tank. Wow. Fish in, and Fish gone tomorrow

IMO, Qty will depends alot on the surface area of the tank. meaning the base area of tank plus the hiding area from the Deco provide (i.e DW). Nonetheless one tank full of L25s will not compliment well to one another.... a single stalk of red rose will stands out among one bouquet of white roses..... on the otherhand, one bouquet of red roses is just another bouquet of red roses...

IMO and understand, both are harvested from different environment, altums are usually caught in calmer water whereas the L24 are caught in moderate rapid flowing water, hence got to give it another thinker. Cheers ! :)

with altum no doubt will be peaceful plecos like panaques, L46, L200 and L128 lor..... but for me i will have altum with L200 or L128... nice colours esp if their colours are "out side standing"...

This is what I am trying to achieve, "effect"... A school of dull Altum and one L24 or L25.. Black background.

Keep Big Altums with Big pleco. Effect will be nice. Don't try to breed them and make your life tough. Sit back and enjoy :)
