Any site link to it??
In the late 90s, Aqualog labelled Teles-Pires as L27b, if you house it in a dark environment, it will turn completely dark in color. :)

Some of the Japanes online site do sell them from time to time, but after they are sold, the pix are taken offline. Most of the Japanese site are listed here in PCS already in chit chat. One of my favourite site :
http://aquacity-akari.com/index.html
It is very nice of you to share this link bro KF..:)

You are welcome Bro, the links to Japanese sites can actually be found under Chit Chat section. I have been exploring the entire PCS site and my god there are alot of gems here I kid you not! Like this link:

It's posted by Bro Chillicrabz in the Pleco breeding and sexing section. Really cool stuff. I urge those who have a bit of time to explore PCS thoroughly. Cheers.:)

Do we have a new crunching tiger hidden dragon??? :D
If I may ask where was this fish sourced?
Japan or Taiwan?
To the Panaque old birds.
Has this variant ever been brought in to SG?

Alright, IMHO, it is most likely.
L27 TP is known for spots in the fins, and big fan fins disproportionate to size of body, etc.....
currently, if the lines are golden in color, they could be:
1. L27 Aragauia or L27c or L27 goldline (regular, V denture)
2. L27 Tapajos or L27 Thunder (Long snout, U denture)
3. L27 Teles Pires or L27 Thunder God (Big dorsal, big pectorals, spotted fins, U denture, if remembered correctly)
I dont think that L27b is TP as TP was discovered just couple of years back while L27b has longer history. L27 TP when first imported to Taiwan were similar to the one showcased in RVA Jap site (that japanese specimen is really top notch quality).....
Just sharing my opinion and observation...

Bro, a few years ago a new royal was discovered (old threads and posts in PF) and the first shipments arrived at Waterworld...I cant remember if I saw it in person or was it Jay, anyways we also received pictures from Boss Chui.
All the new royals in these shipments have 1 key distinguished trait that set them apart from goldies from Araguaia and Tapajos.....gold dust/spots in dorsal and caudal fins.........subsequently some top quality ones were found in Japan...the rva site is a good reference......

So if you consider all goldies to be L27c, also can...just for current naming convention, and exchange of info, L27 Teles Pires is more specific ;)
