2 cm lowerxingu? chances of dying very high.

also 4.5 cm L18? is this wild?

if i am not wrong - hypancitrus babies start dropping off (dying) when they are 2cm. yours about right.

1.5 cm can die even by switching breeding box in the very same fish tank that they live in

are you sure is in centimetres? who sell it? 1.5cm - how to release. oh man..

i bought a L18 before, that died mysteriously. it just arrive the LFS and i was too anxious to grab one. my guess is they were not properly acclimatised.

i think you have to look into your setup before your next round of spending.

don't give up!

i guess it's debatable. why do you add salt into a FW aquarium anyway? :o

im sorry to hear your losses.
IMO, L18 is never a entry-level fish even though its at an entry-level price. i have never seen anyone who managed to keep them from 3inch to 8inch. But i have to salute them who managed to keep them alive for 3 years or more.

There is an article about these nuggets by Ingo Seidel on Planetcatfish. They really need highly-oxygenated water. Maybe you can read up on them.

Keep plecos like how you raise your baby, if you are married. Treating them like how we treat ourselfs now is disasterous. Toddlers are much fragile and need more delicate care. The diet is different, the way we handle them is different too. Raising fries is a painstaking process as compared to juveniles or adults but the joy of seeing them grow is worth-while.

Generally, plecos are hardly creatives, provided giving them to ideal environment and water parameter to strive in. Do not be discourage as you have learnt something new today, remember.

Pleco-keeping is never a boring hobby, you be thrilled at different stages, be it fries, juveniles, adults, breeding, sick or death. Its as if a part-n-parcel of life.

brother i think u just throw it in water, never use drip method? or put plastic in water tank. for 30min. maybe u shock them and stress them. i use to do that and all die.

Not die easily at 3-8inch, but i never see anyone who managed to get them surviving from 3-8inch. Moreover, their growth rate is as fast as the earth goes one round the sun, so hardly i could see anyone keeping them for so long.
