I have never breed any pleco before .
but wanna ask , I have a L66 and a L333 pair (4 " each) , they male trap the female for about 3 days( is it too short a period) , i found out after when i saw the sinking pellets are still there after a few hour .
The female is out for 2-3 days now . the cave was quite deep and i cant seem to see what is in there . The male never come out for food till now . could it be he is protecting the eggs now ? I afraid that if i use touch to shine will mess up if there is really have eggs in there . I will just wait ?
This pair breed by previous owner before . Now i hope to see babies fry soon. :)

Because the female not lay eggs yet! Don't disturb. Once she is done, the male will let out the female. An efficient pair only take one day to do it! yeah, mine behaves like this. hehe..

They will breed again if bred before under normal circumstances.

If the pair trapped for 3 days is quite normal... Since the female is out from the cave for 3 days, I believe you should be able to harvest the eggs in another 2-3 days time. You can leave them alone and you should be able to see some wrigglers swimming around in your tank soon... Cheers!!!

I see 6-7 fries today , what should I do now ? Shall I leave them there or take them out ? I not sure if there are more in the cave as male still inside . Not sure if the female will eat them or not , there are no other fish in the 2 ft tank , just the papa and mama ,

Leave it! Leave them there. There are more in the cave. The 6-7 fries that you saw today are leaders of the pack or rather the escapees from papa fanning

No. Don't worry. They will not eat the fries. Apistomaster from AQ taught me that. The parents will continue to breed in the presence of its constant growing up fries. Btw, apistomaster also breed alot of L134s and L333s. Just google it. his name is everywhere..our local forum is privileged to have him

next time they breed again i will leave the fries in the tank , :)
