er... I'm not trying to be morbid here, but fishermen do frame up their prized catch in Americas/Europe. Does any one know of any company that offers such services here?

Cheers,

must look for peckio's white stuff to get the job done .. :D

older days in poly ... I'll go borrow some formalin from bio students ... then use it for embalming the specimen ...

but prior embalming need to remove internal organs and drain it ... else it'll bloat ...

Sure lah bro. They always got this thinking that overdosing a little will cause the fish to up lorry but they don't know how good it is.

Actually there is this diluted or something formalin for sale. It is from a reputable brand but I cannot remember off hand. The liquid is dark blue in colour when poured out. Anyway I pm you already and use cautiously hor. It is known to cause cancer. :D

Yeah... thanks bro!!! I just keep for standby one. Btw, yours is how many % methanol?

The diluted one is FMG formula i guess (green green colour). Not as good as pure formalin I heard, so wanna standby and try in case need to.

If is formalin, relatively safe if use correctly. Apprantly carcinogic formeldehye fumes(spelling error) is made stable by the methanol/ethanol. Of cause dun use it to shower and drink... hahah.. Yamm Seng!!

formalin with 50-60% ethanol hor ...

I remeber is methanol. Is it same? I have one research article on it, let me go find and post it.

Dun think its the same ...

last time "arh kah qiu" with the bio lab students ... so they already have premix embalming liquids made liao .. so just grab a little from them .. put inside those "sour plum" containers ... done :D

But after some time ... the eyes turn white .. looks farnie .. so throw away ... *sheesh by right cannot like that throw one*

Younger days in malaysia ... indian star tortoise die liao ... chop all limbs ... use spoon scrap clean internal ... then put on top of red ant nest ... tomorrow come back clean clean liao .. then clean again ... paint with resin ... and buffer to shine .. :D

But pleco decompose very fast one leh .. those within 1 day still got chance I think ... those exceeding one day usually exo-skeleton become soft liao ..

currently we dun have a public "resources/article section" ... thus placed it in "chit chat section" ... with link:

Will shift where appropriate when we have more articles available for general public .. :D

My L025 who have been with me for a short 2 weeks. Passed away couple of days ago due to my stupidity...miss him greatly. It's just beginning to settle down and doing his stuffs while i'm not looking. I enjoyed the company of this fella so much so that the day after his passing, i woke up the next morning...looking at his hiding spot to check if he's okay...only to realise that he's gone. hais...RIP

hi, as per sotongman's thread in AF, i think the spikes got stucked with the bag of coral chip i left in the tank. i was out of town over the weekend, and when i'm back...found its body under the bag. interestingly the bag was at the furtherest end of his hiding place, at the other end of the 5 feet. its a pity...

give yours more time bro...i was looking at mine at the other end of the room with a bino! and i think the L001 more or less lure him out to have a bite

That's an interesting fish Thomas.
I agree on the female looks from the pectoral odontodes.
But don't you think the dorsal fin spread is unusually large and majestic for a female fish?
(7pts female L25? gecko will wet his pants! :D)

desmondekker,
Try to use the plastic mesh bag for coral chips ASAP.
Mrs. Toh has them where the mesh bags are sold.
They also provide better water circulation for the coral chip to do what it should!
