Chris ah....

Why you keep consolidating my posts? Then how will I ever get 10,000 post count?

More importantly, Most of these are 300K images. By splitting them into single post, it improves the loading rate when split over different pages isn't it?

Cheers,

p.s. I think the first one is more than 30 cm. Maybe even 45 cm!

Yup... LFS photos. Cheapest way for me to enjoy plecos. Can't afford to keep them, so I enjoy them in the shops.

These are all from Taipei's "Waterworld".

Have spiky ones. But I don't know how to read Chinese and I don't know the exact scientific names either. I won't know which ones are exotic and which are not. My pleco knowledge still newbie level. Sorry!

This one I like!! Common L128, but big one.

About 6 to 7 inch only. They used to have even bigger ones. I bought 3 last time, but they died when my filter clogged. Shame.

Background, not sure. Very cute and nice. But I can't read the chinese name. I see if I can get a picture.

Xantos

Hong Kong meaning: "Golden Rubber/Eraser" aka "Jin Xiang Jiao" .. but my direct translation is "Golden Banana" :D

Taiwanese call them "Golden Dharma" aka "Huang Jin Da Mo"

Reference for HK: http://www.plecoclub.org/forum/showthread.php?p=2605#post2605

Nope. No pictures. They were always behind the sponge filter. Could not see them at all.

Told Boss Chui I wanted pictures and he said he will try to email you.

Same procedure as Taiwan for bringing fishes back to Singapore. The pleco shops address can be found in Aqualife, which I don't have with me now. Sorry. But I'm sure if you make the trip, you'll have a hell of a good time. Don't forget to update us.

Xantos are one of the few fascinating species of plecos around ... where physical characteristics of one xantos would deviate drastically from another ..

ie. lumps on body ... left pectorial shorter than right pectorial ... first 20% got spikes 30% dun spikes then rest 50% got spikes again ...
