In addition those branchy wood that lfs used to sell is very well liked by plecs as well but it seems like it is no where to be seen now. :(

My personal experience. Throw in BW and DW, the panas will "sup" the DW first then the BW.

Anyway, I used DW for supplementary makan and BW for deco. U must agree with me the branchy BWs are very swee.

Check out my old setup:
(The top right hand piece is BW, it never sinks even after 1 over yr in water)
Btw, the Java ferns inside looks nice but never last more than 1 mth. The pleco wack here wack there, gonez.

Someone ever told me that both the DW and BW are comes from the same wood. The reason they are given 2 names is base on their pattern / natural of grow. DW is more like a plywood and BW comes with branches.

As you can see my pleco tank setup only a piece of DW/BW. So...is it sufficient for my plecos to chew and this is my main concern.

Indeed, this wood looks dark brown in color.

plywood is nothing near to DW ..

plywood is made from wooden boards glued together on top of one another alternating grains and compressed ..

DW is solid wood ...

Suffice wood to chew is not a main concern ... rather suffice "comfort zones" for them to chew ... :D

Sorry Sotongman, maybe I did NOT make myself CLEAR :)

Well...I am NOT referring to plywood. What I mean is that it looks like a plywood shape (just a piece of wood, of course comes with plenty of holes). Whereby BW also a piece of wood but comes with branches. Both are different in shape but in a same family.

I may sound harsh or arrogant in prior post ... but no puns intended .. :D

and no worries for apologies ... cos my replies may not be perfect as well ..

but in conclusion from my perspective ... DW or BW seriously doesnt matter much .. as long as plecos are happy .. and it aint affecting much of my tank water parameters ...

DW or BW matters! :D
1. BW is much more expensive than DW
2. DW sinks easily compared to BW which might take months to sink
3. My plecs all big size one so the chances of them getting stuck or get injured by BW is high :(
