New L46 not feeding

Need experts help on this,

got 6 of L46 3", up to date i got them is 10 days, I tried feeding them hikari algae wafers,canivore pellets,hai feng algae wafers,frozen blood worms,slice of potato, nothing seems to work, going to try cucumber tonight.

I'm keeping them in a 2ft acrylic tank with OHF Aqua Zonic Black Knight-4, 18w, 1800L, 1.8M, 4.9L,no air pump with 3m caves, 2L caves n 1 piece of big DW.

How long can they go hungry?I'm keeping my fingers crossed atm :(

I think can stick with carnivore pallets as they are more carnivore then herbivore. Suggest crush them to bits and scatter inside as it can be easier to feed in their mouth and they dun not need to fight for food. Not necessary one pallet for each. Maybe 2 or 3crushed pallets for time being.

Watch yr water condition since you have fed them so many types of food. Ensure uneaten food remove. Do not do too much excess vol change as try to keep the water parameter to minimum variance. Keep the tank dark and not disturb them for time being ( i cover with newspaper to keep it dark for new wc 46)

1800L might be a little strong for the two feet tank, reduce the outflow if there is a reducer valve. feed at night and monitor their activities at night then day.

will try to wrap newspaper around, there's no reducer valve in that pump but it's very noisy, thinking of changing the pump, got any recommendations? :o will follow the crushed pellets way,thx!:D

i usually throw in the pellets at night, i counted them n the next da i woke up, the same amount of pellets r still in shape ..... just a little more bloated

will update abt the cucumber since my wife already helped me cut n put in, shall i take the tetras commed with them out too?

That's not good. keep trying with hikari sinking carnivore pellets. cut down the quantity and again feed at night. and see how it goes. try alternate day feeding.

are they in a species tank? they must b stressed. normally will feed

they .... took the cucumber :D going to try the canivore pellets these few days n see how it goes, will take some pics too :o

I will increase the tank temperature to 32 or 33 deg C to increase their appetite. This may help but not always the case yet no harm trying it.

oh yeah.. higher temperature will help. improve the aeration as well because 02 level at high temperature will drop off. learnt this from planted tank : )

My L46s r feeding on cucumber n a bit of carnivore pellets :) as long as they eat i dun care wat they wanna eat :p here r some pics i took of them.

My caves size M n some L cos that time go c328 buy no more S liao,sianz ... I dun wanna add in gravels cos maintain is more easy, saw yr L46 collection, really nice WC ones,mine is F1, mind sharing with us where u got from n damage?

i see..i managed to grab last 4 pcs of S caves from NKS..he said he will restock last friday..

i also dun feel like adding gravels..now, the tank layout has already been changed..i have spread the DWs out more rather than piling up in the center..all of them like to stay in the same place and fight..and also i rearranged the caves slightly against the water flow..

but feeding wise, so far, FBW only..they dun seem to interest in the pellets..PM u..:)

i tie it down with a small weight, i tot they r going to die on me when i got them, cos for 10 days they din eat anything, cucumber is my saviour :cool: next time get new pleco dun eat i throw cucumber in, slowly convert them.
