Different Bro. I have only personal experience and observed that LDA63 (red fin royal) is juveniles of L27 Xingu Platinum...

With regards to Ed's poser, it is pretty interesting that Nobody has seen a L203 adult or a baby LDA65;) Although that is not conclusive therefore that they are the same fish, the similar body and fins structure of both might indicate that they are indeed the same fish.....or not.

The biggest L203 I had was less than 10", likewise the smallest LDA65 I had was 12". They look similar except for the darker color of LDA 65 and the L203 had a clear window in its tail, was hoping to grow the L203 pass 12" to see the transformation but alas experiment cut short prematuredly.:(

I had ever bought a baby of 3 to 4" which is a replica of the giant LDA65 in terms of slender shape and color....it looks very different from L203 which is bulkier and shorter....I was raising him to see if it becomes a LDA65 but again , sayang, cut short. I should have photos as I was documenting all these... will search but might have deleted already...Akoh might remember as I ask him to id (in AF or PF????)...and he confirmed a baby LDA65.

Boss Chui's opinion is that they are different and he relied on counting the scales (forgot the term, sharp protruding scale) on the side of the fish: more than 23 = LDA65.

So unfortunately my experiment was cut short so until now I cant say either way, except that it seems like they might be the same fish:o

I have that 12" LDA65 too ! sold it to jja BUT ! :( :( . The largest L203 that I have kept is also a 10 incher. Noticed the body colouration ( when stressed ) and size of their eyes also different. :)

Eyes:
Possible to elaborate more?

Cheers

When Stressed, LDA65 is greyish green but L203 greenish brown

In proportion to body size, the 10" L203 eyes are already the same if not bigger than the 12" LDA65 eyes !. Just like L90 series, their eyes are very small ! reckon the LDA65 falls under the same category. :)
