Hi all
I am new to plecos and have a few questions to ask.
Everyone tells me that the L46 should be a species tank and that I should not add anymore plecos with them. However due to the infamous pleco fever and no licence to buy more tanks, i really want to keep L46 with some other plecos of the same size and same diet type. I want to house about 2 L46 and 2 of something else in a 2 ft tank. Is that a problem?

Unless you want to breed them, they should have no prob. with other plecs of the same characteristic. :D

Need to find out more about pseudacanthicus...
I will put 1 or 2 male apistogrammas, 1 checkboard, 2 chocolate dwarf gourami, 1 honey golden gourami. 2 half beak fishes... mostly small low bio load fishes except for the apisto.
i intend to look for plecos that will grow no bigger than 10cm to mix with them....since my L46 will be about 4 cm, i intend for plecos around that size first but can grow up to 10cm.. any suggestions on the Ls that i can go for?

ok.. found out about pseudacanthicus... no worries, i do not look for any fishes that will max to that size. Everytime i buy the plecos, i look for a maximum size of 10-12 cm. The L128 that I have is prob the only one that will grow up to 18cm... I do not have the tanks to have huge plecos... unless hee heee....
Bro, ideally tankmates should be from the same biotope coz' water parameter requirement is different. Cheers ! :)

15 cm == 6" L128 ...
I would say I have a batch of L128s that came in at 2" 2 years ago .. and they are approx 3" last year ... and hardly reach 3.5" this year ...
6" L128 aint that easy to reach or come by I'll say ... :D

well, if that's the case.. then i should not have any prob with the this set up of L236, L128 and L124. All about same size..although i dun see L236 coming out very often
