Was browsing among the fact sheets in scotcat.com and stumble across this interesting bristlenose, one of mine and all time favorite BN among BN fanatics..... MArbled Bristlenose, LDA07, Bristlenose "Claro".

WHile reading i found out that it has another common name, "Chameloen Bristlenose". Known to be able to take various color form against it background....

It is you ! confirm ! :D

The longest I have kept BN ( L144, claro, starlight etc ) ranges from 5 to 7 yrs, AND yes the growth rate is quite fast ! :D

i dun think so, across all plecs, under good n appropriate care, can last you a at least 5 yrs.......... :)

Today went to aunty there and saw some big bristlenose. They should be adult size and ready for breeding but i don't see any females there. I don't know which L no. it belongs to but it's full black one. I think is medusa if not wrong. :o

now that you guys have mentioned it.
i find that the usual BN offered by the LFS are...
albino BN, "regular" BN and long-fin version of the two!! *faint*

what happen to the other BN like the claro and others with more interesting patterns?!? :(

and if you see them... maybe one or two pieces... how to start breeding program?
i think this "group" offers the best "poison" to pleco nubies.
one, not hard to breed...
then, go for more "potent" (read bigger plecos) poison... :D

Yah.i saw when it arrive at the shop..........They are huge mature L34...... nice but dull cos soptless, would i orefer over L255....... since spots remain even as it grows........ :)

i must say i'm quite a "opposite" one on plecos.
i havent any experience on plecos before my zebras.
only the usual "eat shit" catfish and those died on me too! :p

but i did a lot of homework as zebras werent avialable when i wanted them.
thank god for that too.
it forced and gave me time to read as much as i can on them before the chance to buy came. ;)

I was at Gan's FF last week and saw several champion claros ( male and female ), asked Ah Tiong to let go to me but he said dun disturb lah ! these fellas are my champion area cleaner lah ! give chance lah ! :( same case as the youngman's :( :D

i ddint see the ones at gan's just the pictures on DATZ.
very nice and different to the regular ABNs or BNs.
and to champion area cleaners as you say too! :)

Bro, because of their body pattern, they are also known as marble bristlenose ! used to keep them when I first started, very hardy and champion area cleaner !. :D

I'm also looking out for them. :D

it was qte awhile back when i went to gans and tht visit left me dissapointed! i went there and al i cud find were two types of BNs.. since then i havent went back.. guess its time to do so soon =) wana take my first peak at real life claros.

Those claros are area cleaners in the aro tank hence not for sale, Gan is more into aro now ! :( not much actions from South America ! :(

i notice nowadays LFS that used to bring in many plecos are starting to tone down.... less and less exotic/rare ones are coming in.. =(
