Rio Vale Biotope Set up

Rio Vale is located in north eastern part of Singapore. This "river" system is unique as it is infested with mostly with pseudacanthicus found in various part of Amazon....... other funny creatures can be found here too....... :D

Here is a portion of how the "Rio" looks like....

Size : 2x1.5x1.5
Bed substrate : Lapis river sand
Others: Branchy bogwood and smooth rounded rocks
System : Tetra 90
Lighting : 1x 2ft fl
Inmates : Red-nose tetra, Checkboard cichlids, marble hachet, L144s, juv Pseudacanthicus sp (L97). Farlowella Acus and Gracilis
WC: Weekly 20%

Filter: Tetra 90 abt 150 (new) 2nd (<$100) or u maybe using OHF for 2ft abt $20
Substrate : maybe FOC ask ard small qty shld no be a prom
Bogwood: i use 2 pieces, 1 abt S$15
Stone/rocks : ipick them from landscaping at mine in-law's house :D
Wat else?

Bro, you can try using neutral rock, coz' some has plenty of holes and the plec can use it as hideouts ! :D

Try those farms at tampines, cheap and alot of variety..can arrange a trip we go together also, trying to finish my 6 foot biotope..:p

My Malaysian cousin once brought me to a river somewhere near Ipoh for some expedition and swim, the water is so clean but damn frickling cold !, you can actually see the riverbed anyway the river not very deep lah ! at most 2 to 3 feet. In this river there are plenty of these rocks that Edmund had posted but they are not dark in colour ! instead they are biege or light brown in colour ! I brought some and still using it !. Maybe we should organise a trip up there to harvest those rocks and maybe some DW and fishes ! :D :D

Still remember those rocks I used in my Zebra tank ? not the smooth surface ones, those with alot of holes ! :D

April high chance of going to Peru side of Amazon. Too bad high tide but still have chance to find L90, LDA65, New found Royal (no L number) and peru pseuda...anyone want to join? River cruise, sleep and eat on those amazon boat with fishing and catching activities...fish can ship back via NKS (thank you first Mal!)...
