Am poisoned by "equipment freak" XiaoLong aka David ...
personally believe in using heaters to retain consistant temperature in tank ...
some may query and comment that singapore temperature is within 27-30 degrees thats optimal for tropical fishes ... where essentially, we are already within tropical region ...
despite above, I believe that water temperature will flunctuate throughout the day esp when tanks aint place in strategically well locations like balconies and near air-con areas where temp difference can be pretty drastic ...
Will comment on reliability after my purchase from NKS ...
so why dymax heaters? or wats attracting me?
digital leh ... looks more "Sud" and steady than those "turn turn" dunno working type heater that needs thermometer leh ..

Sotong if you want I can lend you my Tetra heaters. Got quite a few lying at home. They are very reliable so no need thermometers and by the way I think now got no more heaters that need to constantly monitor temperature one.
By the way the digital part attracts me too

Solid looks, but how big will the hole in my pocket become?
Also, Dymax reliability vs Jager/Rena?

I'm currently using Rena .. but it seems to me that only Dymax ones comes in digital form .. and thats attracting me ...

Reliability dunno ... which speaks why I'm buying to test ...
I'm getting quite a reasonable quantity from NKS for all my unstrategically placed tanks ... so anyone wanna join the band wagon of "Mass-order" ... can consider harassing the "evil merchant" ... aeroplanes will be shot and placed on O $ P $
I've enquired pricing from benjamin of petmart ... and its doesnt seem to deviate too much from tetra or rena heaters ... guess that should place most individuals at ease ...

I've 2 pcs of Rena 200w, recommended by a certain young man, that it's sufficient for 5ft tank. Planning to use them for my 2 new 5ft, now see this, wonder if need to get my hands on 2pcs of DH300 ;)
Dunno whether this shop in Kovan can do trade in :D
Will join in if there's MO

hopefully 12pm - 2 pm ... just in case that I may have to return to office ...
if u have a laptop ... do bring it along .. cos bigger screen easier to analyse your images ...
Things I'll cover:
- Wats aperature and how it affects images
- Shutter speed in conjunction with aperature
- ISO or older term ASA ... how does it affect images + its pros & cons
- photography is all about light. How will light sources affect our images and how to adequately impose more lights.
- If got time, hopefully can cover refraction resulting from glass tanks.
To be frank .. 2 hours .. cant cover everything also .. and hopefully everyone is punctual so that things can go smoothly.

Hi, u can check with NKS Boss, to get him to order for u.
Currently, he only have 4x100W left in his shop.
So far, tested both heaters, they're both able to hit 30deg, which I set for my tank, but as currently still cycling tanks with feeder fishes, so not a good gauge. Will feedback after I get all my aros & plecos back & into their tanks :D

It's like in air-con room, same set temp, different no. of ppl, the air con compressor also need to work harder.
So for heater, the time taken to reach the same set temp will also be dependent on the no. of inhabitants in the tank

got like that one meh?
tot its more dependent on circulation within the tank?
Still dun understand why you guys need a heater ! I'm looking at buying a chiller to cool down the temperature !. Certain parts of amazon, the water is cold especially those rocky and fast flowing rivers. :)

Yah, if I can keep those type of plecos living in cold, rocky waters, I'll also be getting chiller, but then, my plecos are those that prefer warm water cond lor :D
All plecs including Scobbies and panaques will do well in cooler water.
In my planted tank ( earlier years ), I've kept L14 ( juvenile ), altum angels, gold nugget in 25 degree C of water and their body colouration were very champion !.
Previously with PH or submersible pump ( for OHF system, it generate heat ), my water temperature was around 30 degree C and all my panaque are fanning like crazy, aftering removing the PH and submersible to eliminate the heat, also on mishaps and also cut down on electric bills, the temperature has dropped to 28 to 29 degree C, the panaques have stopped fanning and furthermore grow very long chew chew ! you wanna see ? :D
Anyway the choice is yours ! I'm just giving you guys a thinker, do whatever suit you. Cheers ! :D
Studies has shows that the temperature in River Xingu is from 25 to 29 degree C.
