So far so good, not heating up like other China brand filters, also not causing sudden jump to my electricity bills.
Water as clear as before :D

Actually where is Fluval made in?
Heard it's an European brand as well.
Btw, as stated in my posting in the WC regime thread, there's a sale at a LFS in Tampines, quite tempted to get & replace my OHF, but not sure of the benefits or hazards of running 2 cannisters for a 522 tank
422 with a 2.5ft sump filled with bioball bioring and charcoal
powered by ehiem forget whats e pump number:p
by the way what do you bros here recommend?

coral chips as buffer to prevent ph going down
Things already in:
- clam shells 1 kg ...
- coral chips pebble sized: 3kg ....
not advisable to further increase hardness of water ... cos STs are getting irritations at times scratching itself against gravel ...

seachem Neutral PH 7 regulator brings up PH for 2-3 days only loh ..
after that back to square one ...
Can only think of the following solutions ...
1. closer water change interval (I'll be slave to the hobby)
2. change to bigger tank (not possible)
3. reduce live stock (not possible)
haiZ ...

Was thinking of getting a Pro III for my 522, but the price of a new set is simply
Recently also not much ppl letting go in the forums, but personally, I would rather get a new filter, for long term considerations :)
What are u guys take on Rena XP4, Fluval 404, etc, as compared to Eheim Pro III?

indeed .. require powerhead .. very typical of higher-end canisters .. like eheim 2260
one think I like about laguna .. is the ease of maintainence ...

Hi all
I am just starting to keep plecos. I intend to keep 3-4 10-12cm plecos in a 30X30X40 (H) tank. I know the tank is abit small, but i have space and wife constraints.
Question is filtration. Can I do a Eheim 2211 and a Liberty 100 Hang on filter on that tank? Is filtration enough?
The rule of the thumb in fishkeeping is 1" of fish for every 4"x4"x4" of water and the minimum turn over-rate for filtering system is 3 times the volume of tank ( the more the merrier ! ). So go easy on the number of plecs you gonna keep. Cheers !

Anyone ever tried hooking up the inlet of a cannister filter to 1 of those tap water filter, those type u see attached to the water coolers, before routing to the cannister filter itself?
Will this work or sure clog with our pleco waste :p

these cartridges are good for mechanical only ... which doesnt remove nitrates and ammonia ... where u would need their carbon cartridges ... and carbon cartridges "lagi" expensive ...
not cost effective lah ....
