Hi i'm new to the site & wonderinging if anyone can help me with my 2.5 inch albino bristle nose plec. I set this new tank up at the begining of Jan using my old tanks water, some decor & fish & got a couple of new fish. Since then the nitrate went high but thats now nearly normal again but ph levels have been very low, amonia etc have all been fine. Just over a week ago the little plec developed large bubbles under the skin, one either side of its mouth & now behind the fins also looks quite swollen in front of the eyes. Im getting quite worried now as no-one who i've spoken to seems to know what this is, only ideas are dropsy or gas bubble disease, have done numerous water changes & airator has been turned down as low as possible, still swims around ok but it doesn't seem to be eating as much.
Please any help would be greatly received. Have tried to attach photo.

I have one plec that has something similar to yours. It has been months and there are no signs of it getting smaller but it has not gotten bigger as well. I see some lfs plecos have this as well.

Thanks for quick response, it seems to have gone down slightly on one side since it first happened, either that or one of the bubbles moved, it just looks so uncomfortable, least I don't need to worry as much now then, thanks.
