Bro do you have any idea of what was fed to him when he was at your friend place? The goldline I got from bro alanng initially got long and thick chews but after I changed its diet the chews started to fall off and is now thinner and shorter :(

i remembered this fellow oso lose its chew chew when my friend just introduced it into his tank, possibly water parameters, fights and diet.

but it grew back.

diet wise - algae pellets, carni pellets, etc...cos his is a comm of variety of plecos

The "chew chew" is a seasonal kind of thing, based on my observation usually grow around Sept/Oct to Apr/May time frame, guess it got something to do with the tide in Amazon which trigger the breeding season.
- To attract and for attack ! :D

Worth a try ! BUT ! I think plec has a build-in " Timetable " in their system coz' my LDA65 grow and shed the chews even when all parameters remain constant. :)
