Hi all,

my two plecos, L190 and L18 seems to me like not eating the hikari algea wafer that i feed to them. Feed them once a day, at night but next morning will see that the foods are still there. They are in 2ft tank and having 3 medium sized driftwood in it. I did push them to the side to inspect whether got srunken tummy but both of them looks fine.

I did feed cabbage before and saw the L190 eating them but i would prefer to feed with wafers instead as it would be easier to maintain and clean. Could anyone intro me a good wafer that they might accept?

And another question, i plan to mix them both in an arowana tank setup (one juv arowana). L190 around 4.5inch and L18 around 3inch. would that be okey if i keep them both there? Thanks all in advance.

Hi bro you might want to feed them less? Normally L190 respond to hikari algae wafer pretty well. Other reasons that I can think of for them not to eat is it was a long time since you last did WC, the filter is clogged etc.

As for mixing with aro it should not be a prob if you do not add salt into the tank. There have been talks that the salt that is added directly into the tank causes burns to the plecs. ;)

Hmm but if aro is ill alot of bros said use salt and heater to remedy.. i guess the both pleco will be affected? Thanks bro.

no issues with aros and plecos .. as long as the aro is well fed along with suffice hiding place for the plecos ..

personally am housing the following:
- tank A: 21-22" RTG with 11" & 12" L25
- tank B: 14" Red Aro with too many plecos that I cant keep track off ... from 2-3" L128 to 12"-13" L14 ...

Salt and heaters serves no issues to plecos as long as salt is dissolved prior addition to tank ... for personally have tried aquarium salt, epsom salt along with heaters @ 30 degrees ...

Btw. all my tanks are fitted with heaters tweaked at 29 degrees ... exceptionally useful these few weeks where rain is plenty ..

Cheers
