It was mentioned in one of the threads in AQ that after feeding NLS TheraA pellets which claims to be an anti-parasitic fishfood, his apisto which was initially skinny managed to get a full tummy. Has anyone tried this on plecs? Any reviews on this? I'm quite tempted to use this food to clear their tummy on a monthly basis.

I did not see any long term benefits mentioned but for short term, it seems like it is able to eradicate intestinal parasite. Not too sure if it helps to bring out the colours like the other types do.

Im not sure if saki goldfish pro-biotics also have the same effect, but from the pics at the back of the pack, it seems like it also helps to improve the digestive system of the fish. Maybe it is the more economic version of the NLS.

Long term benefits of this is increased resistance to parasites. NLS Thera+A is supposed to contain a mega dose of garlic, which promotes resistance to parasites

It's my staple food for all my fish :) Fish seem to like it alot (I was able to adapt wild discus to it in a mere 3 days...usually takes over a week with other dry foods)

I brought 6kg back from HK last month...it's 1/2 price there, so not as expensive to feed this :D

However, to qualify, I'm not sure how it works on plecos as I'm using earthworm sticks to feed the plecos

It's a food highly recommended on overseas forums to condition fish for breeding. Fish are supposed to love it too. I had 5lb brought in from the US to try out because of the rave reviews.

Here's the analysis:

INGREDIENTS: WHITE FISH MEAL, FISH PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, WHEAT FLOUR, SOY FLOUR, GLUTEN, DRIED BREWER'S YEAST, FROZEN BABY BRINE SHRIMP, PLANKTON, SHRIMP, KRILL POWDER MIX, EARTHWORMS, KELP MEAL, DRIED SPIRULINA, FISH OIL, LECITHIN. THE FOLLOWING VITAMINS/MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS A, D-3, B1, B12, CHOLINE HCL, & BIOTIN METHIONINE. VEGETABLE PROTEIN. THIAMINE ( SOURCE OF VITAMIN B1). ASORBIC ACID (SOURCE OF VITAMIN C).

GUARANTEED ANALYSIS: CRUDE PROTEIN 45.0% MIN., CRUDE FAT 4.1% MIN., CRUDE FIBER 4.2% MAX., MOISTURE 8.2% MAX. ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS, EXCEPT FOR SOME ARTIFICIAL COLORING. NO PRESERVATIVES.

What's the output from the plecos on this earthworm pellets like?
I notice lots of output from my 4 plecos on carni pellets & tetrabits, to the extent that I've to change the filter wool in my IOS once every 2 days

are they available in Singapore LFS? I've not been able to find them locally so I had them brought in.

Poo wise, it's not alot. hikari and tetra contain alot of ash, so waste from them is more than quality foods with low ash content

I saw it at C328. They are all on a standalone shelf. Come to think about it.. I always missed it when picking up the Seachem fertilizers :)

Oops I think I misunderstood your last post when I responded. I meant earthworm sticks not available locally sorry!

NLS is available quite commonly. C328, Polyart, Seaview etc all carry it.

I have been using several NLS foods for about 4yrs. I use the cichlid formula as a staple diet for all fish including my Bary's, I also use the Thera+ daily, I was advised not to use it to often as it is heavily laden with garlic, however i have never had any issues with daily use.

It definately has healing and immunity benefits. Recently i took a risk with avery hollow bellied L90 Panaque, 6wks later it is a very strong fish, its tummy is flat, its colour is good.

300g tub is £11 in the UK, I'm happy to organise a small shipment to Singapore if you cant get it. I'm could friends with the UK distributers. Gecko is in the UK isn't he? Could send some back with him.

that will come to about 11.00 GBP = 26.1957 SGD. which slightly cheaper from what T1000 have stated if shipment cost is added.:)
