New to pleco

Hi Guys, I'm new to pleco and interested to try keeping one. Which breed of pleco is good and easy to keep for a newbie ??? Please advise.

Hi Jason ! welcome to Pleco Club !. There are several species of plecs and they comes in all shade and szie, you need to pay those Plec lfs eg NKS, C328 etc a visit, see what you like and read up on their requirement before bringing it home ! Cheers ! :D

Hi bro welcome to pleco club. I would advise you to look see look see and find out more on their requirements first before committing to which plec to buy. Do not get them because they are cheap in comparison to the others. Royals do give some problem like lots of poo and they need DW in the tank for hiding and chewing. Besides, if you are keeping them with aro, there is always a possibility of them bloating due to the consumption of meat like market prawn that is used to feed the aro. There are other nice plecs around like L128, L200, L95 etc. However, if you really like royals, go for it! :D I have to warn you first, plec keeping is very much like eating Pringles. Once you buy, you can't stop :D

hahahaha...... i hate pringles too. indeed i agree at first i really dun like pleco and can't imagine ppl will spend 100 or 1000 of dollars to get one. and i just got one last last at C328 and keeping in my sump at the moment till i get a DW for it to hide as my aro is a damn greedy fellow.

Wat did u get? How big is ur aro?

i got a L190 and my aro is 20" but i put the pleco in my sump.

Keep observing and see how your aro react to ur L190......... :)
