I want to keep some wild discus. But i only want to do water change once a week. guys, do you think i can get away with it without casualities ????

barmby,

should not be a problem if you feed sparingly.
also, try not to use dry foods like "brand" bits etc...
imho, bloodworms is best and pollutes the water the least.

Bro but feeding bloodworms alone would not be nutritious enough correct? Anyway during my last try with heckels, they didn't even bother to smell the bits that I fed them.

Barmby: Maybe you can try NLS? There have been talks about it enhancing appetite. :confused:

WHere u gona keep them? 5ft planted or wif ALTUMS? once a week i think will retard growth leh........... Tubifex worms....... i jus learnt a new n cheap deworm method.......... wil share wif u if u start keeping.......... :)

Although I've never kept heckels before but I've previously had wild tefe/coari red spotted greens, ica red and they were OK with Tetrabits but still I advise on a varied diet. I mix my own beefheart with spirulina, some crushed multivits, garlic, paprika and spinach.

Where to get nice wild brown discus or wild heckels at the moment?
It's another good idea for my pleco tank now that I've sold the RTG which used to share the tank with them :p

C328 has some heckels (Not sure wild or not) and Wanhu (Tiong Bahru) has some "Wild" discus. Brackets are put there because they are too "nice" to be wild. Wild discus usually has bigger eyes and no high fin, high body shape. I could be wrong though....

Had kept a few snow whites with my panaques back when I still had the 422 tank, sold all those when my OC decided to reno the dining area.
Now with my 2-tier 5x2.5x2, and a tank with only 3 scobbies + 1 L81, 1 FF & 1 IT, I'm tempted to either comm wild discus, 3 x silver aros or red head topajos :D
Anyway, hope u guys can give me some suggestions when we meet on Wed :)

He does both actually. If you chat with him, he will most prob try to lure you into buying his aro but he will not sell many to us.

He said the selling of other kinds of fish cannot earn eat. The only ornamental fish that doesn't lose value is the aro ;). Anyway the other time he brought in some endler guppies and he forever has the stock for cardinal tetras :D.
