hello,
anyone has experience with this seachem product?
i've got nitrate levels of about 30-40ppm. WC every week, religiously, of about 40% to bring it down to 20-25ppm before it goes high again end of the week.
Extra WC, feeding less, reducing bioload are not options i can explore.
i was hoping to daisy-chain my present 2028 to a cannister (2215?) filled with de-nitrate.
so i was hoping to get some advice from the experts.

Bro maybe you might want to let us have more information like what is your tank size, how many occupants in the tank, what kind of filteration and how often do you feed them :)

i am using denitrator for all my tanks...some bought from Damien (bro tagore) over at arofanatics, one is dymax.
denitrator helps to control nitrate, but does not do away water changes (learnt this the hard way).
what u r talking about (seachem) denitrate media requires slow flow rate (cannot remember the number), which i think a canister filter is not suitable.

Sound like an interesting product........... but i think there is no perfect product, so long as anyone keep fishes in a aquarium, water change is a mus coupled with adequate filtration system.
de-nitrate = zeolite?

sure thing. i definitely agree that WC's a must.
but i was hoping to decrease nitrate levels further with the help of natural bacteria. zeolite is different from de-nitrate i think. de-nitrate allows anaerobic bacteria to cultivate. the reason for the daisy chain is so that the oxygen depleted water from 2028 will flow into the 2213 where the anaerobic bacteria may work. (i do not intend to turn on the 2213 so am sourcing around for a cheap, reliable cannister)
thus my qns if anyone's used it to some form of desirable effect.
on a side note, was at NKS, C328, Y618 recently. is the pleco scene quiet or has everything been snapped up?

over the week i checked out the price of items (brand new) for my project and all i can say is, not in the short term. if i do embark on this project in the near future, i will definitely share my findings with everyone.
in the mean time, what i did was do WCs twice a week instead of once, about 45-50%. and i can SEE very obvious changes to my fishes. but it's been a week and i could be biased but i'll keep it up just to confirm it. now my nitrate lvl is consistently around 10ppm.
more updates when i kick start the de-nitrate project
