View Full Version : My Hypancistrus setup

My simple setup.......

Tankset : 2 x1.5 x 1.5ft
Filtration : Fluval 303 cannister
WC regime : Twice a week / once a week
Inmates : 8 x Hypancistrus sp. + 1 x L46 and some ghost shrimps to do cleaning work

Allen: thise rock are smooth and irregular in shape. i do have some other big ones but tank too small afriad it will crack the tank. Hence i didnt put it in. i bought them from Cheng Tai Nursey (Off CCK). Hope this can help you some way or another. :)

You have the address ? I almost done with the rock preparation for the Zebra tank, now looking for neutral rock for L200. :)

Go explore into the nursey to serch for this rock............ rice abt 60-80cent/kg

Hi bro, very simple and neat set-up. I have 3 x hypan tanks which is the same size as yours. Seems mine is too messy as compared to yours.

May I check with you if its necessary to use big smooth rocks like yours because mine are those big but porous type garden stone.

Chengtai my favourite when it comes to plants...cheap and did you buy those display rocks that they have? I bought one few weeks ago...good price they selling as compared to others that I've seen.;)

as long as it doesnt alter PH over time

Hi trix, the reason i buy smooth rocks is becos i read from articale tat xingu rock and round and smooth, i think got to do with the sharpe edge point tat may hurt the tender mouth.

i just wander in the nursey n pick any rocks i like............ :D

Oic...yah, Chengtai has got rocks of all shapes and sizes:)
