Motivated to setup and update my L173 pair and their love nest :)

The TL 4" male L173

This is the female most likely L173. Still trying ot get confirmation, but look exactly the same as the Aqualog.

One pair oni, u gif so many cave? lata the female go wrg cave...... mouth watering L173s......... some tat i love but far far fetch........ :)

That 4" male is a killer, so provide more caves just in case...;)

U guys alreadi experienced wif breeding, i dun think my wait wil be long. Btw, i jus set up another "RioVale-upstream" for the hypasncistrus coming in tomolo....... thanks for ur "help".

Bro, zebra eyes are suppose to be white, why the male is gold or brown ? or isit the camera flash light ? :confused:

The two side is white, maybe under shadow? Also PLC now states that L173 is not L46...I agree as the body structure a bit different...

IMO, L173 is jus happens that the stripe marking resembling a zebra......... so it may not be a zebra........ :)

Just read the Back to Nature guide to L catfishes by Ingo Seidel, he states that the "Hypancistrus sp. L173 is a further variant of H. zebra.....the status of L173, a loricariid catfish with wavy stripes, is still not entirely clear."

i think it can nvr be cleared, see now got the Bel Monte, lower xingu etc. it may takes decades to make it clear. :)

Ingol came to our PCS booth during the 2007 Aquarama, chit-chated with him on plecs and cories stuffs, think he bought the zebra car window thingy ! :D
