Experimenting with DW arrangement

Hi bros,

Was experimenting with DW arrangements. I know a lot of bros here use the "tripod" method to arrange the wood so that you can see your plecos move under the shadow of the DW. However recently I added quite a few small sized and quite shy plecos (L260 hypans), and they are always chased out by my more dominant big size guys. So I tried a few variations so that the small plecos got chance to eat and hide... more wood on the ground and less hanging here and there... because I find that no matter how high you stack your DW the plecos will not climb up, they will only jostle for hiding places on the ground level. So here's my current arrangement..

Here, some water is stuck here and there, so that the food will also get stuck there for the smaller plecos to grab :cool: Considering there is a overpowered wavemaker to push water around the tank, it's ironic that I need to create deadspots for the food to collect :o

This is quite a good idea, can understd ur rational of doing so.

im am trying ur method our as suggested by u earlier, but looking at ur setup, mine may not work well cos i uses one big big 2.5ft DW and tat oni piece. So the King will get the best spot. However, if i uses smaller DW, my pseuda will push them about. think need to re-house them in bigger tank. and throw few big big DWs.

After a few experiments, I settled for this big U shaped arrangement, by pushing all the big DW to the background and around the left and right sides leaving the full foreground open for feeding and viewing.

There are so many hiding space so that all the big ones have their own. The right corner was occupied by a pair of L25s.

After a few experiments, I settled for this big U shaped arrangement, by pushing all the big DW to the background and around the left and right sides leaving the full foreground open for feeding and viewing.

There are so many hiding space so that all the big ones have their own. The right corner was occupied by a pair of L25s.

LAwrence this is the old 5ft tank rt? my current 422 do not give me the luxury of lenght space. all pseuda still not stable............ :(

i think more dw and a couple of rocks will prefect the setup..... showcase ur L114 here leh. :p
