QUICKSTART AQUARIUMS
Starting up fast
Easy-Life is ideal for starting up new aquariums. It removes all sorts of contaminants (see also Activities) and accelerates the growth of useful bacteria. Easy-Life removes large quantities of Ammonium so that less Nitrite (toxic) will be formed. Normally Ammonium will be coverted into Nitrite and then to Nitrate (nitrification). Easy-Life prevents a quick build up of Nitrite and Nitrate, by binding Ammonium. Furthermore, Easy-Life makes the useful bacteria population grow faster, resulting in a quicker conversion of Ammonium to Nitrite and then into Nitrate. This way there usually will be no Nitrite-peak during the maturing of new aquariums with Easy-Life. And for this you don't need any chemicals or 'foreign' bacteria ..... the 100% natural and powerful Easy-Life suffices.
Start your new tank up with Easy-Life. A lot of problems will be avoided and your fresh water or marine aquarium with all its inhabitants will thrive like never before.
Build up of Nitrate and Phosphate : water change
Valid for new and matured fresh water and marine aquariums !
Important remark
By using Easy-Life, the frequency of water changes can drop dramatically. Some aquarists have not performed any water change or filter maintenance for longer periods of time. We strongly disapprove of such conduct. We recommend to do a water change and perform filter maintenance at least on a monthly basis.
i find this good. Sometime i buy plecos without have a ready tank, so after purchasing, will starts worrying is the tank cycled well, otherwise, stress of death. If it works, it will be very useful. :)

been using it since i saw lawrence's thread in plecofanatics on "share your filtration". great product. i always dose after WC. first the water conditioner, then easylife. makes the water super clear. when i do WC, my tetras shows signs of stress. after adding easy life, colour comes back. i dunno about disease cos i don't have any so far. i think my bioload's pretty high:
20 red eye tetras 1~1.5 inch
25 columbian tetras 1.5~2 inch
8 adult angels
1 9 inch peru green
1 8 inch goldline
1 8 inch tocantins
1 7 inch xingu platinum broad line
1 4 inch L190
1 4 inch L 191
3 3 inch LDA63
4 1.5-2 inch albino corys
4 3-4 inch clown loaches
5 1-1.5 inch sterba corys
1 lone 3.5-4 inch L134
all in a 422.
after every WC, nitrate at 10. end of the week, only go to 20ppm (measured using 2 test kits, API and sera)even when i WC once a week 40%. feeding everyday without fail. no stunted growth, everything's growing well. now i do 2 x 40% WC weekly.
could be many other factors and not just easy life. but i'm sold, and a loyal customer. the packaging's changed though.
but it apparently clears all "bad stuff, medicinal residue, chemicals" from the tank. not sure how the product identifies what's bad or good. but 24 hours after adding easylife. i dose BW extract, then stresszyme.
as for algae...still must use magnet scrub every week lah. the growth of algae same as before i used easylife. this one confirmed one.

Easylife is definitely a great product. Been using it since Pleco Days. Now use it for goldfish and cichlids.
Fantastic for kick starting filters and a must add after WC. A not so recommended use, a interim solution if water is turning poor and no time to WC. That being said, nothing beats WCing!!! Cheers!

yeah, must catch up soon :)
Tis is one product i swear by and Seachem Prime!!
Easylife is one of the better water conditioners that I have used but it also has its bad side. Easylife seems like it will neutralise medication added into the tank. I cannot confirm on this but the last time when I use Easylife with melafix, the water turned cloudy and never clear until I have done a few WC.

agree with yonghua. not just medication. normally i add stresscoat, then tap water. i only add easylife after the water's filled. then i wait 4 hours or till the water's crystal before adding other stuff like stresszyme and blackwater extract.
there was a couple of times when i added easylife, 1-2 hours later when the water was pretty clear, i added tetra blackwater extract. BAM, the water stayed cloudy for quite a while. my guess is, the benefits of the blackwater extract were being neutralised by easylife. so i bid my time now. experience liao.

If you join PCS officially as a subscription member you will be informed of deals that come along every now and then for the members.
The price is usually well discounted from the retail price and probably "special customer" price too.
