Nice series of photos. Lawrence, with so many blind spots especially for tank A, do you do head count of the plecos in it constantly?

Actually I lost count...I can only say that there are at least 12 to 18 adults and another 12 to 18 babies....in the 1st tank. No way to fall them in to number off...

Maybe because i'm still fresh and weary :o. Especially after the sudden death issue. I count my lower xingu sp. everytime now when i am free. And if i find blind spots within my setup, i shift the deco alittle to make sure i can see those blind spots.

I know what you mean, maybe after a while when they are very settled down, you might learn to "let go"...I did:)
When I have new additions in Tank 2, I watch closely too, you will notice that I can peep into the caves there. With new additions, the alpha male is either challenged or the new birds wonder carelessly into his cave. The results were fatal.

Hi Bro
This is Chris' post:D
If you are into plecs but need something with easy maintenance and breedable in small space, hypans is the way to go...:)
I will always miss my royals and pineapples, but this is really making up for them.

That I can agree. Hypan are nice n space frenly. And it goes pretty well with apistos setup. Not too sure about the PH tho', must do some research.
Btw, where are the hot spots for pleco, hypans nowadays? NKS, 328? itchy itchy... or local L46 breeding rooms.. ;)

C328, Fish Haven, Aquastar (yishun), Y618 ocassionally have good shipment of hypancistrus sp from lower xingu, a new hype of recent months and L134s too. As for zebras, more and more successful breeding case have been reported from various hobbyist. NKS will be coming in a shipment in a few weeks time, however no idea what to expect from there. :)

Share share lah, many experts here too....if not zebras, recommend L66, L399 or L400. Also look up Hypancistrus sp. (lower xingu). These might become extinct or rare when the Belo Monte Dam is constructed...
522 swee! Ask edmundo to help get 2 x Pro 3, for hypan breeding tank, you need to service the cannisters every 9 months or once a year if no other tankmates. Low maintenance:)
The challenge might be getting the right caves, spore hard to find.....

Try AQ for 2nd hand ehiem filters. Every few weeks, there are aquarists who give up hobby. (Planted tanks are tough!)
