My second attenpt on this species. Got them to replace sturisoma as they hardly able to outgrow for a 2ft setup. Accordingly to literature, they max out at 4", which i find it reasonable to keep. There are also successful breeding of them and i do hope to succeed breeding them while waiting for the "geese" to lay the golden eggs. I find them good cleaners as well to clear algae and uneaten food for my "geese".

Breeding : Cave spawner

Is your golden goose L46s?

in such a case, will they not fight for cave space?

Not really at all, initialy i kept them wif the baby zebbies to help clean up the unfinished food, they hardly disturb them and hardworkingly cleaning the substrate floor. Given their size and frame, dun think they can compete with the hypancistrus for cave. try them at ur new setup, u will love them. :)

Edmundo, I had such similar fishes once. They are good with algae. But they need clean water. In the end, they died after a short period of 1-2 months. Also, the other time my tank was having all sort of nonsense. NO3 overdose, CO2 overdose and I think it is too 'shocking' for these little fellas.

Good community fish :)

Thanks for highlighting abt the clean water. I feed them sinking pellets (mirco pellets from Hikari and tiny wood grains on the DWs). i get to breed them (shear luck) will pass some to you for sure. Cos i believe they will thrive even better in your 5ft tank. :)

Fantastic Are the various broods in separate tanks, or was this all going on in one tank?

i kept them in one tank. Primary purpose as "cleaner" to clear uneaten food. :)
