Anyone here owns any megas and willing to share their experience about these huge creatures???
Apart from the normal L113 and L234, anyone wish to share their experience with Dragon high fins and the other black black species, dunno what name.
Heard from my friends, that there are 4 species althougher and i have personally saw them live.
But not sure if we classified L234 and dragon high-fin as the same species.
Its something that we can discuss about.
Cheers.

I just came across a handfull of megas recently, and somehow start to fall in love with it.
Imagine 4 different megas in 1 tanks.
Confirm like our 4 heavenly kings sia.

hey hey... i'm here.....
i have a dragon fin and a cf barrae...... however both are not in the same tank at the moment cos the dragon fin just recovered from starvation, when i g0t it, iz very very skinny... now that he has stablize and i'm going to introduce him into the main tank where the SPIKES live......
You will be surpirse that they do chew on drift wood very often... they have different denture as compared to pseudacanthicus..... the 14" cf barrae often sustain bites mark by the pseuda..... he can fight back but hardly able to inflict any wound the his smaller counterpart.
maintaining the coloration is a tough job, and i'm still trying to figure out the best way to do it.
The dragon fin used to be bright striking yellow, claimed by the previous owner, but now is dark grey in coloration..... still pondering.
will upload some pics soon.... :)

indeed, awesome pics.
Dragon high fins has flatter n longer nose as compared to the L234.
Which somehow seems in a more triangular shape,
L234 on the other hand, has a more rounder mouth.
The markings on both head n body might have some difference.
However, if both markings looks identical, the head structure is used as a guide.
This is a 15inch dragon highfin that juz landed in HK on 18th Aug.
Costing HKD$4500

from aqualog, L234 and L113 looks identical which makes me think the photo for L234 shld have not be that.
IMO, that pic that you posted, i think iz a cf barrae and not a dragon fin.... as mentioned earlier, cf barrae does come in spotted variant..... nks has one 12" now.... but this fellow looks awesome...

Now here another question.
Btw, is cf barrae L234???
If we classified this under cf barrae, then why do hongkongers import them directly from brazil as dragon high fins???
And what is the difference, the characteristics, the features.

imo, cf barrae is n0t a L234.... in aqualog, both are distinctively identified between them. Btw, i'm not sure if stocklist will indicate "dragon fin" for this need importer to clarify. is these names given by supplier?

edmund, so any difference in these 2 closely-resemblence species, apart from the explanation from the aqualog.
btw, any other mega-keepers care to share their views???

flip thro aqualog last nite cos nothing to do and at the same time paying abit more attention to the megas, i would say, the pictorial references of L113 and L234 shown are identical species.
The differ is the origin which was written. i have seen some L234 in the foreign website and some L113 aso.. comparing them both base on their context, the former is yellowish base where the latter is grey-black base althot both look exactly the same.
