why would these be classified as zebra instead of hypancistrus sp.?

maybe because it is a leucistic Hypancistrus zebra?

felt that zebra is a commonly misused/hyped naming convention by traders ...
do pardon me ... for I'm an orange is an orange fella ... rather than a super juicy ultimately fabulous orange ....
anyway back to topic ... I"ve not seen these in local waters ..
very unique L46. It look like a white horse to me, rather than a zebra, nice piece to keep with.:)
