Saw this interesting post from PF.
If fishes of the same species can be hybrid, i guess the same can goes to Pseudas, which i hope to achieve 114 x 600 in the future if time and capacity allows. It would be interesting to see how the colour transformation will be.

A hybrid is the offspring from 2 different species like a Mule. So far we do not yet know whether many of the Hypancistrus L numbers and L114/L600 are separate species.

hey bro, hybrid of 2 different species under the same genus is possible... (they would still be fertile)
it may be happening in nature without our knowing, which lead to some weird L number.

e.g.
l24 x l25
L333 complex (belo monte, porto de moz, lower xingu...etc)

I would really hope for ...
- body structure & lyre tail of adonis
- finages of dragon fin mega
- finage redness of L25

what species would you start your breeding, if u would want that features???
GOD is fair, he wouldn't want to make something that have the best of both worlds. That's why there are over 400+ different L-numbers.

i feel that it would be good to protect the ingenuinty of the specific L numbers alone.
too much mixing around will end up degrading the intrinsic and extrinsic values of the hobby. eventually there will be lots of unidentifiable pieces of fish around which makes it harder to grade in terms of beauty and pricing.
a good example is to look at the amt of sp stingrays around, too much mixing, also too many illegitimate hybrids. aft many generation of hybrids, all will look the same which makes things less interesting.
nature have given us genetic diversity between similar species which is why we have such a diverse selection of loricariidae species making this hobby interesting.

Corydoras is a good example. Alot of crossing in the wild.
