currently treating a L25 suspected to be infected with this slime disease.

cause: stress-induced

i acquired this L25 on 17th May 09, due to its size i decided to direct transferred it into the main tank. at this point of time, the fish looked stressed, discolored with white patches especially at the dorsal area.

to my horror, it manifested into this the next day.

with no knowledge of what is this disease, i dosed interpet no. 8 (treating it as fungus)

came 19th May, no improvement but looked worst! the dorsal fin was 'eaten' away at the first few rays. quickly snapped pic, pm bro gecko for opinion and advice. he suggested that i should transfer the sick L25 to a hospital tank, and dose interpet no. 7 instead.

now already the fifth day, it is surviving. though the patch is still there, it did not spread any further. have i managed to arrest the disease? not too sure at this moment.

will continue to monitor and update.

here's a little update on the condition of the L25.

both eyes recovered from the slight sunken condition
can see from the pic that the holes on the dorsal fin is recovering
the grey/white patch seems darkening.

the best things is the fact that it started eating:D

and another today

the holes on the dorsal are closing up.
the patch has improved. actually notice that the condition improved on a daily basis.

so glad that i managed to arrest the spread, now just hoping that its coloration can be as vibrant as before.

one final update of the condition of the L25...all the holes on the dorsal closed up and the coloration is coming back...

the patch on the body near the dorsal is also healing well

this slime disease is rather difficult to handle...its been 3 weeks since the L25 contracted it and i am still dosing the medicine, though at very much reduced amount.
