Hi fellow pleco keepers
This is my first post and help appreciated. I bought a panaque two weeks ago and till now is not eating well. I tried unsuccessfully with lettuce, wafer, tablets, potatoes. It is now surviving save due to the algae on the tank glass and bogwood. I recalled it was a fat chubby fellow when I first bought it. |

Try courgette/zucchini or cucumber. I find new plecs always like these 'softer' vegetables. You can weigh them down with stainless steel cutlery. Try cutting strips of the skin off, it can take them a while to realise its food. Try sweet potato my panaque love that as well. If that fails try some shrimp/prawn mine always go crazy for it.

I wouldnt persist with lettuce (mine have never shown interest, I think its due to the texture) even if it did start eating it is nutritionally poor. If the cichlids eat up his food (wafers/pellets as well) you might have to rethink the setup.
